As with many other races, the various races of elf have more or less merged, although their physiology remains distinct as there have only been a very few elven generations since the beginning of the Inundation. There are, today, basically two groups of elves: wood, high, and sun, originating in Ljosalfar, today dwell on the mangals and Miranda; dark, night, shadow, star, and moon elves, originating in Svartalfar, dwell today on the Deathly Plane of Shadow as drow.

Eladrin[]
- Main article: Eladrin
Eladrin originated in Sidhfar before the Inundation, possibly possessing fey ancestry.
Alithi[]
- Main article: Alithi
A curse, invented by the Mad Druid Seye Ipivi, called alithi afflicts many Material Plane elves, transforming them partially into plant creatures. Elven society has not yet entirely come to a consensus on how to treat alithi elves.
Half-Elves[]
Elves continue to interbreed occasionally with their human trading partners, and half-elves have similar status in both societies as they always have. However, half-elves often find they fit in better among the mixedfolk than they do in either elven or human society, and often join mixedfolk crews or move to Gus when they’re old enough to leave home.
